Raipur, April 9, 2026: The Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited has achieved a significant milestone, with its Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Thermal Power Plant (DSPM), Korba East, securing the third position at the national level for the financial year 2025–26, recording an impressive 91 per cent Plant Load Factor (PLF).
Energy Secretary and Chairman of Power Generation and Distribution Companies, Dr. Rohit Yadav, congratulated the officers and employees of the generation company for this achievement.
Managing Director S. K. Katiyar said that, as per the annual report released by the Central Electricity Authority, the company’s power stations have delivered commendable performance. Notably, DSPM Korba East secured the third position among thermal power plants across the country, reflecting efficient management and regular maintenance of units.
He further informed that both units of DSPM, having a capacity of 2 × 250 Megawatt, achieved a 91 per cent PLF during 2025–26, significantly exceeding the target of 85 per cent set by the Central Electricity Authority and the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
In addition, the overall performance of Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited has also been appreciated at the national level. Among 33 power generation companies in the country, the company secured the third position, thus placing itself among the top performers.
Expressing satisfaction, S. K. Katiyar said that the achievement reflects the dedication and coordinated efforts of the team, and would further strengthen Chhattisgarh’s position in the national power sector.
