Chhattisgarh has recorded a significant achievement in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026, with 13 candidates from the Tribal Youth Hostel in Dwarka, New Delhi, successfully cleared the preliminary stage. Most of the successful candidates come from Tribal and rural backgrounds have achieved this success through determination, hard work and talent despite limited resources.
Congratulating successful candidates, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Clearing the preliminary stage of UPSC by these Tribal students reflects the talent, perseverance and commitment of Chhattisgarh’s youth. The state government is continuously working to provide quality education, competitive examination support and career development opportunities to young people.” Their success will inspire thousands of students across the state to pursue ambitious goals, he added.
Students who have qualified in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination–2026 includes Shri Gautam Kumar, Shri Kulbhushan Singh Poya, Shri Hari Chandra Prakash Singh, Shri Mayank Ratre, Shri Malikram Patel, Shri Aryan Rathore, Shri Chetan Lal, Shri Harish Kumar Patel, Shri Kishan Lal Sahu, Shri Satyanarayan Chandrakar, Ms. Diksha Diwakar, Shri Vikesh Kurre and Shri Prakash Patel.
Shri Sai noted that, with the objective of expanding opportunities for talented youth from marginalized communities, the capacity of the Tribal Youth Hostel in New Delhi was increased from 50 to 200 seats. The expansion has enabled students from remote forested, Tribal and rural areas to stay in the national capital and prepare for UPSC and other prestigious competitive examinations under better conditions.
The Tribal Youth Hostel was established to provide Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Class students with a conducive environment for preparing for civil services and other competitive examinations. Selected students receive free accommodation, nutritious meals, study facilities, library access, quality coaching and regular guidance from experienced mentors.
Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam said that institutions such as the Tribal Youth Hostel play a vital role in identifying talent and providing the right direction to aspiring youth. He expressed confidence that the successful candidates would also perform well in the Main Examination and Interview stages and bring further recognition to Chhattisgarh in the civil services.
Principal Secretary, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Shri Sonmani Borah said that the achievement reflects the positive impact of the educational opportunities and guidance being provided by the state government. The success of 13 candidates in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 adds another significant chapter to the institution’s record of accomplishments.
