  • Ten Maoist cadres surrender in Sukma; rehabilitation opens a new path for social integration

Raipur, December 12, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described the surrender of 10 Maoist cadres in Sukma on December 12— including members of the Darbha Division Committee—under the “Poona Margham: ‘Rehabilitation for Social Reintegration” initiative as a symbol of historic and positive transformation. Among those who surrendered are six women Maoists, who collectively carried a reward of Rs. 33 lakh.

The Chief Minister stated that the pledge to build a “Naxalism-free Chhattisgarh” is no longer just an aspiration; it is becoming a “rapidly unfolding reality”. He added that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the fight against Naxalism in the state has reached a “critical and defining phase”.

CM Shri Sai stated that the surrender is evidence of a significant shift in Bastar, where the ideology of violence, fear, and misguidance is weakening, while the path of “development, trust, and dialogue” is growing stronger.

He emphasised that the path of violence secures neither the present nor the future. The state’s special rehabilitation policy offers “dignity, security, livelihood opportunities, and assured reintegration into society” to those who surrender and want to join the mainstream society. By returning to the mainstream, they can begin a stable, safe, and respectful new chapter with their families.

Chief Minister Shri Sai reiterated that the government’s objective is crystal clear— to make Chhattisgarh “completely free of Naxalism” and to give Bastar a new identity rooted in “development, trust, and opportunity”.

Welcoming the decision of the surrendered cadres, he appealed to other misguided youth to abandon the path of violence and join the democratic and developmental mainstream.

He stated that through the coordinated efforts of the “double-engine government”, strengthened action by security forces, expansion of development schemes, and a humane rehabilitation model, a “new narrative of transformation” is being written in Bastar.
