Korba Bang Society Marks 150 Years of “Vande Mataram” with Grand Collective Singing Event

Korba, Nov 22: The Korba Bang Society organised a grand collective singing ceremony on Friday evening at Kaveri Banquet Hall, DDM Road, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the iconic national song “Vande Mataram”, penned by novelist Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. The event began at 7 pm and witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the Bengali community along with their families.

Members of the Korba Bang Society had been rehearsing for several days, synchronising their voices with musical instruments to present a well-orchestrated and melodious rendition. On the occasion, renowned tabla maestro and professor Dr. Kunal Dasgupta, accompanied by Happy Pal on the harmonium, led the musical ensemble.

A soulful tribute to Vande Mataram was presented by Atin Mandal, Amit Banerjee, Raja Mukherjee, Uday Chatterjee, Samit Haldar, Praveer Kumar Dutta, Happy Pal, Monika Ghosh, Tulsi Moira, and Roma Mandal, whose coordinated performance added grandeur to the celebration.

The event witnessed an impressive turnout as members of the Korba Bang Society attended the programme with their families, collectively honouring the timeless national song with deep respect and patriotic fervour.
