Korba, November 27, 2021: Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO), India’s
iconic aluminium producer, organised a felicitation ceremony recently, on the occasion of
Mitanin Diwas. The main objective behind this event was to appreciate the efforts of Mitanins
and to instill a sense of motivation in them. The event was held at Anubhav Bhavan, Housing
Board, Balconagar by the CSR department.
Appreciating the initiative, Mr. Abhijit Pati, CEO and Director, BALCO, said, “BALCO is
sincerely committed towards welfare of the communities residing in the vicinity. Mitanins of
the region have played a significant role in facilitating the CSR projects of the organization in
maternal health and data collection for vaccination. Celebrating Mitanin Diwas offers an
encouraging opportunity to recognize their hard work and to infuse a sense of confidence in
them.”
The event was conducted under BALCO’s umbrella project on health, water and sanitation
named ‘Project Arogya’. The project supports community with interventions in Primary
Health Care and by creating awareness on various diseases. Major components of the
project include: Rural Health Post, regular health camps, awareness drives specially on HIV
and TB, and maternal and child health programmes. The project has impacted more than
24,000 beneficiaries during the current fiscal year.
