47th Raising day of NTPC Limited celebrated at NTPC Lara

The 47th raising day of NTPC Limited celebrated at Lara Super Thermal Power Station with befitting manner. In the morning Shri JSS Murthy, GM (O&M) hoisted the NTPC flag in front of the construction office and addressed the employees on journey of NTPC Limited since 1975. Shri Murthy elaborated NTPC’s commitment for affordable and reliable power supply for nation building. He also put some light on community development activities carried out by NTPC Lara for peripheral activities.

Shri Murthy said, NTPC Lara is fulfilling the power need of home state Chhattisgarh by supplying 50 percent electricity and rest of the energy is supplied to the central and western India states. Since inception during these 46 years NTPC Limited proved itself as a major power company by fulfilling almost 25 percent of country’s energy requirement. Besides power production NTPC has marked its presence in the entire value chain of power production, distribution and proved as a integrated power major with installed capacity of 67657.5 mega watt. NTPC has planned to become a 130 gigawatt power company by the year 2032. From this 130 gigawatt, 60 gigawatt power shall be fulfilled from renewable source. In spite of Covid 19, NTPC maintain uninterrupted power supply so that the general public can lead a comfortable life during lockdown.

Later on JSS Murthy, GM (O&M) along with other GMs, HoDs and representatives of union and association released the balloon and cut the cake to celebrate the 47th Raising day. After that all employees witnessed the webcasting of Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC Limited’s addressed the employees from EOC building of NTPC Limited
