Kusmunda police seizes 250 ltr diesel, one arrested

KORBA, Jul 4 Kusmunda police has arrested one for diesel theft, while 6 more are being searched for.

On Saturday, Kusmunda SHO Leeladhar Rathore received intel about some people stealing diesel from SECL vehicles standing at the coal mine there. Police team reached Khodri graveyard and saw some people running out of mine. While police managed to catch 1 of them, 6 others fled from the spot.

The arrested accused introduced himself as Chandrabhan Ratre (27) from village Japeli, under Urga station range. 70 litres diesel, one pipe and one Hero Honda motrocycle CG 12 AC 3952 were seized from the accused. He also revealed the names of his accomplices, namely Reshamlal Satnami, Manoj Kumar Sarthi, Ashwani Kumar Ratre, Santram Kurrey, Rajendra Ratre and Vijay Ratre, who are now absconding.

However, police has managed to recover 180 litres of diesel, one cycle and 2 motorcycles, which were left behind by the 6 accused while fleeing. The accused has been sent on judicial remand while police is looking out for other accused. Apart from SHO Leeladhar Rathore, Sub Inspector Shivkumar Dhari, constable Mahendra Chandra and Sanjay Tiwari played important role in the case.
