Korba, February 3, 2025: NTPC Korba marked the inauguration of the Executive Development Program (EDP-2024) at the EDC Auditorium, with Shri Rajeev Khanna, BUH Korba, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. This flagship initiative aims to equip newly promoted executives (E1 level) with critical leadership and managerial competencies, ensuring they are well-prepared for future responsibilities in the organization.
Addressing the participants, Shri Rajeev Khanna, BUH Korba, emphasized the importance of continuous learning in leadership development. He stated, “At NTPC, we believe in fostering a growth mindset among our workforce. EDP-2024 is not just a training program but a strategic intervention that empowers young executives to take on higher responsibilities with confidence and competence. As we navigate the Energy Transition Era, equipping ourselves with the right knowledge and leadership qualities is imperative.”
The event was also graced by Shri Bibhas Ghatak, GM (O&M), Shri M.V. Sathe, GM (Maintenance & Ash Dyke Management), Dr. Vinod Kolhatkar, CMO, and Shri Shashi Shekhar, Head of HR, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the program’s impact.
Shri Bibhas Ghatak, GM (O&M), remarked, “EDP-2024 is a structured approach to shaping future leaders who can align with NTPC’s vision. The program fosters decision-making and analytical skills that are crucial in operations and management.”

The diverse learning modules and outbound training will enrich participants with essential managerial and interpersonal skills.”
Since its inception in 2017, the Executive Development Program at EDC-Korba has trained 139 participants across six batches. The seventh edition of this two-week-long program includes In-House Faculty sessions covering NTPC’s Vision, Contract Management, Finance, HR Policies, and Sustainability, followed by External Faculty sessions and an immersive Outbound Training module focusing on Written Communication, Team Building, Leadership, and Officer-like Qualities.
The inauguration ceremony set an inspiring tone for the participants, reinforcing NTPC’s commitment to leadership development and workforce readiness in the evolving energy sector.
