NTPC Korba Marks the 76th Republic Day with Enthusiasm, Patriotism, and Community Care

NTPC Korba celebrated the 76th Republic Day with unparalleled zeal, embracing the theme of “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Progress). The celebrations were a vibrant amalgamation of national pride, cultural heritage, and significant milestones, underscoring NTPC Korba’s dedication to excellence and community welfare.

The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur and patriotism at Vikas Bhawan, the administrative building of NTPC Korba. The event commenced with Shri Bibhas Ghatak, General Manager (O&M), being warmly welcomed with a ceremonial cap and badge, a gesture symbolizing respect and honor. He was joined by Shri MV Sathe, General Manager (Maintenance & ADM), and other senior officials.

The day’s events commenced with an endearing welcome for the Chief Guest, Shri Rajeev Khanna, Business Unit Head (NTPC Korba), and Smt. Roli Khanna, President of Maitri Mahila Samiti at the Mansarovar Stadium of NTPC Korba Township. The tiny tots of Tiny Cottage greeted them with delicate rosebuds, setting a heartwarming tone for the occasion. Shri Khanna hoisted the national flag amidst cheers and salutes, followed by a rousing rendition of the national anthem. Accompanied by CISF personnel, Shri Khanna then inspected the parade ground, inspiring all present with his words and actions.

The highlight of the celebration was the grand parade, a testament to discipline and unity. Contingents from the CISF (Security and Fire Wing), NCC, and school students from Delhi Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Saraswati Shishu Mandir, and Government High School participated with unwavering enthusiasm. Each platoon demonstrated exceptional teamwork and dedication, earning admiration from the audience.

In his address, Shri Rajeev Khanna paid homage to the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and extended heartfelt greetings to everyone present. He proudly reflected on NTPC Korba’s remarkable journey since its establishment in 1983. “Our exceptional Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 89.84% in 2023-24, the highest among all NTPC stations, is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence. This marks our fourth consecutive year at the top, even as our Stage-I Units complete 40 years of commercial operation,” he noted.

Shri Khanna also highlighted NTPC Korba’s achievements in CSR initiatives, employee development, and business excellence. He expressed gratitude to all departments for their exceptional performance, unity, and unwavering dedication, which have collectively contributed to the organization’s success.

Cultural Extravaganza and Heartwarming Initiatives

The cultural program was a kaleidoscope of talent and creativity, with captivating performances by students from Delhi Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Saraswati Shishu Mandir, and Bal Bhawan. Patriotic-themed group dances left the audience spellbound, while the CISF Fire Wing stole the show with a mesmerizing tricolor pressure jet spray demonstration, showcasing their expertise and dedication.

Adding to the festive spirit, employees excelling in various fields were honored with “Meritorious” awards and distinctions. A thrilling tug-of-war between NTPC employees and CISF personnel further enlivened the day, celebrating camaraderie and healthy competition. The celebrations culminated in the symbolic release of balloons by Shri Khanna, senior officials, and members of Maitri Mahila Samiti, symbolizing hope and progress.

Attendees were treated to a thoughtfully curated selfie point, celebrating India’s diverse dance forms, the traditional culture of Chhattisgarh, and a spectacular flower show infused with patriotism. Nutritional supplements and thoughtful gifts were distributed to admitted patients, symbolizing care and compassion for the well-being of the community.

Led by Shri Rajeev Khanna and Smt. Roli Khanna, the distribution drive was warmly welcomed by Dr. Vinod Kolhatkar, Chief Medical Officer of NTPC Korba Hospital, in the presence of the dedicated medical team. Joining this noble cause were Shri MK Baby, Shri Bibhas Ghatak, Shri MV Sathe, Vice-President of Maitri Mahila Samiti, Smt.
