NTPC Korba Welcomes 2025 with Enthusiastic New Year Celebrations

Korba, January 2, 2025 – NTPC Korba celebrated the arrival of the New Year with great enthusiasm and camaraderie at a vibrant event held today. The celebration was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Rajeev Khanna, Head of Project (HOP), NTPC Korba, in the august presence of Shri Manish Vasant Sathe, General Manager (Maintenance & Ash Dyke Management). Commandant CISF and DC CISF, Heads of Departments (HODs), union and association representatives, agency workers, CISF personnel, employees, and their families also participated in the joyous occasion.

The event commenced with a warm welcome to Shri Rajeev Khanna by Shri Shashi Shekhar, Head of HR, who presented him with a token of greeting. In turn, Shri Khanna extended his heartfelt wishes to all employees and associates, presenting each with a rosebud as a symbol of hope and gratitude. The celebrations then moved to a ceremonial cake-cutting, setting a cheerful tone for the festivities.

In his New Year address, Shri Rajeev Khanna expressed his pride and gratitude to the NTPC Korba team. “As the dawn of 2025 greets us, I take immense pride in addressing this talented and dedicated team of Korba. The start of a new year is always a special moment—a time to reflect on the achievements of the past year and set our aspirations for the year ahead,” he remarked.

Reflecting on 2024, Shri Khanna highlighted the remarkable accomplishments of NTPC Korba, stating, “2024 was a year of growth, learning, and resilience for NTPC Korba. We faced challenges, but together we transformed them into opportunities for innovation and progress. Each of you has contributed to our success, and I am deeply grateful for your hard work and commitment.”

He lauded the power station’s exceptional Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 89.84% in the fiscal year 2023-24, the highest among all NTPC stations. “This achievement marked our fourth consecutive year at the top, even as our Stage-I Units completed 40 years of commercial operations. Such success underscores the unwavering dedication and teamwork of the NTPC Korba family,” he noted.

Shri Khanna also emphasized NTPC Korba’s achievements in operational excellence, sustainability, community engagement, and skill development. “From setting benchmarks in sustainable practices to engaging with our communities and ensuring safety and innovation, we have upheld our reputation as a leader in power generation,” he added.

As the event concluded, Shri Khanna outlined NTPC Korba’s vision for 2025, reinforcing the station’s commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability. “As we step into 2025, our vision is clear: to build on our successes, set new milestones, and contribute even more significantly to the energy needs of our nation. Together, we will continue to light up lives,” he said.
