Winter workshop of GEM organised at NTPC LARA


Raigarh, 30 December 2024. NTPC Lara, through its dedicated Community Development programme, has once again made a significant impact on the lives of young girls in the local community. Through The Girl Empowerment Mission winter follow-up workshop, organised from 23rd December to 28th December, 2024 positive impact was made upon the girls students between the age group of 10 – 12 years, by nurturing their academic growth, self-confidence, and artistic talents.


With a focus on both academic support and skill enhancement, the workshop encouraged 39 enthusiastic Girl participants to develop not only their educational abilities but also their soft skills, artistic talents, and athleticism. The girls were provided with a space to express themselves creatively through a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, dance, music, sports, and more. During the workshop, Smt. Neha Upadhyay (Tehsildar, Pussore) took motivational session for the Girl participants and shared the major tips with them to become successful in future by paving the way for bright career.


The closing ceremony was graced with the auspicious presence of Chief Guest, Smt. Anuradha Sharma (President, Prerita Mahila Samiti), Smt. Archana Shankar, other Senior Members of Prerita Mahila Samiti and female executives of NTPC Lara. In the closing ceremony, students demonstrated the talent and skills that they have gained during the workshop through their mesmerizing performances including Anchoring, cultural dance, skits etc.


The parents, family members and teachers of Participating students have also attended the closing ceremony and have highly appreciated the Program. As these young girls continue to grow and develop, they will carry the lessons learned from the workshop into their futures, empowered to make a difference in their communities and beyond.
