Kawardha police arrests Gujarat’s cybercriminal for uploading a girl’s photos on Instagram and blackmailing her to delete them

Raipur: Kawardha police has arrested a 19-year-old cybercriminal hailing from Gujarat for allegedly harassing a girl by uploading her photos on Instagram and making obscene indecent comments and demanding money from her.

As per police official police sources, the complainant lodged a complaint in police station on June 9 that an unknown person is posting pictures of her and her friend on Instagram and making indecent and obscene comments. The girl said that the guy was blackmailing them and was demanding money in the lieu of deleting photos and comments. A crime under Section 509 of IPC and section 67 of IT Act was registered Kawardha Police Station.

Considering the seriousness of cybercrime Kawardha police station Incharge Inspector Mukesh Som took prompt action and himself started investigations at a rapid pace to identify the unknown person. With the help of cyber cell, the accused was traced in Gujarat. A team of police was immediately sent to Gujarat for further investigations. With the help of Gujarat police the accused was arrested. The youth has been identified as Dilip Dabi father Jasubhai Dabi, aged about 19 years. The mobile used in the incident was confiscated from the possession of the accused, and the transit remand of the accused was taken by presenting the accused in District Anand Tehsil Umred Court. He was then brought to Kawardha and presented in the court and was sent to jail by the court.
