Korba,02 dec..2024.Hon’ble Shri V. Somanna, Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, Government of India, visited NTPC Korba on 29th November 2024. He was warmly welcomed by Shri Rajeev Khanna, Business Unit Head, NTPC Korba, in the august presence of Shri Ajeet Vasant, Collector of Korba, Shri Aneesh Hegde, Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) Officer, Dr. Shantanu Agrahari, IAS, along with other distinguished ministerial officers, General Managers, and senior officials from NTPC Korba.
The visit marked a significant moment of collaboration between the government and NTPC, underlining the commitment to the development of energy and infrastructure sectors in the region. Shri V. Somanna’s visit provided an opportunity for deeper engagement on various initiatives within the energy and water sectors and reinforced the importance of collaborative efforts for the sustainable growth of the nation.
Tree Plantation and Plant Visit
On 30th November 2024, the Hon’ble Minister participated in a tree plantation ceremony held at the Kaveri Guest House in Korba. Shri V. Somanna, along with other senior visitors, actively planted trees, marking the importance of environmental sustainability in the ongoing developmental efforts at NTPC Korba.
The Minister, along with the visiting dignitaries, then proceeded for a visit to the NTPC Korba plant, where they toured the facilities and visited the Unit 6 Control Room. The plant visit showcased the advanced technological capabilities and operational excellence at NTPC Korba, which continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring the nation’s energy security.
