Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai announced a 25% discount on Khadi garments in Chhattisgarh on Gandhi Jayanti. The announcement came after the Chief Minister visited an exhibition showcased by the Khadi and Village Industries Department at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium in Raipur on October 2. As a gesture of support, Chief Minister Shri Sai purchased a Kosa silk saree with godna art crafted by local weavers.
The discount will be available from October 2, 2024, to March 31, 2025. Chief Minister Shri Sai urged the people of Chhattisgarh to take advantage of the offer and purchase khadi garments, emphasising the craftsmanship of weavers and artisans. He highlighted Khadi’s deep cultural significance, especially during the freedom movement, and its ongoing role in connecting people with their heritage.
Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, and other officials were present.
