Raipur 02 October 2024/ In the virtual participation on the occasion of the launch of Dharti Aabha Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that it was Mahatma Gandhi’s dream that the tribal community should join the mainstream of development and progress.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan for the upliftment of tribal areas and tribes of the country from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
Chief Minister Shri Sai virtually participated from Rajpur in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on behalf of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh on the nationwide launch of the campaign and said that the tribal community of Chhattisgarh will also benefit from this and there will be a new change in their lives.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that by making provision of Rs 80,000 crore through Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, measures have been taken for the welfare of more than 65000 villages and more than 5 crore tribal people. This will benefit a population of 47 lakh living in 6691 villages located in 138 development blocks of 32 districts of Chhattisgarh. Hence, it is a day of pride for Chhattisgarh and Jashpur district that the Prime Minister has invited tribal woman Mankunwar Bai of Bagicha block of Jashpur district to his program for discussion.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Prime Minister announced Swachh Bharat Mission on 15 August 2014 and got toilets constructed in every house. He linked it with the respect and dignity of women. These toilets are known as Izzat Ghar in many states. He said that the former Prime Minister of the country, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee created a separate state for the development of tribal society and formed a separate Tribal Ministry and Scheduled Tribe Commission.
Chief Minister Shri Sai remained associated with the campaign from 17 September to 2 October through the ‘Hum Sab Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight. He appealed to the people to make cleanliness a habit and said that we should also keep the environment around us clean. He said that the Prime Minister was concerned about the extremely backward and special backward tribes and through the Prime Minister Janman Yojana, people are being benefited with basic facilities like roads, electricity, water, health, education and other welfare schemes in tribal areas.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our government started working for the welfare of the poor of the state from the very next day of taking oath. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 18 lakh houses were approved, the amount of which has now started coming into the accounts of the beneficiaries and house construction has started. He said that our government purchased 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs 3100 per quintal, the amount of outstanding bonus of paddy for two years, increased the price of Tendu leaves per standard sack from Rs 4000 to Rs 5500. Money is being given to the accounts of 70 lakh women of the state under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Important work has been done in the direction of Modi’s guarantee within the last 9 months.
MP Shri Chintamani Maharaj said in his address that here the Chief Minister is working for the upliftment of the tribal society as well as the special backward tribal society under the PM Janman Yojana. The government is taking positive steps for the upliftment of the tribes. Samari MLA Smt. Uddeshwari Paikara also addressed the program. During this, the district in-charge and Women and Child Development Department Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, MLA Shri Prabodh Minj, Shri Rajesh Agarwal, Smt. Shakuntala Porte, Youth Commission President Shri Vishwa Vijay Singh Tomar along with other public representatives and common citizens were present.
Inauguration and laying of foundation stone of development works worth Rs 192 crore
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development and construction works worth more than Rs 192 crore in a program organized at Rajpur in Balrampur-Ramanujganj. On this occasion, he distributed keys of PM Awas to the beneficiaries, cheques to beneficiaries under Labor Registration Card, Forest Rights Patta, assistance amount to disaster victims, certificates to 3 villages declared TB free, tractor, cheque to two beneficiaries under Animal Husbandry Department.
Many announcements including link court in Rajpur
Chief Minister Shri Sai announced many development works for Balrampur-Ramanujganj district on the request of MPs and MLAs. He announced the construction of a bridge over Mahan river between Narsinghpur and Markadad, construction of a new building for Higher Secondary School Rajpur, construction of a culvert over Chander Muskhor Nala in Ufia in Rajpur block and starting of Additional Collector Link Court in Rajpur.
Karma Mahotsav in Bilaspur and Surguja divisions
Chief Minister announced the construction of boys and girls hostels with capacity of 50-50 seats for the Pando tribe in view of the predominance of the Pando tribe in the region and announced the organisation of Karma Mahotsav every year in Bilaspur and Surguja divisions.
