Chhattisgarh, September 30 – In a significant development, Coal India and the workers’ union have agreed to provide a bonus of Rs 93,750 to each coal worker for the year 2024. This decision was taken after a six-hour-long meeting in New Delhi.
The union had initially demanded a bonus of Rs 1.5 lakh, while Coal India management proposed Rs 85,000. After lengthy discussions, the union revised its demand to Rs 1.25 lakh, which was eventually settled at Rs 93,750.
This bonus is higher than last year’s amount of Rs 85,500. The payment will be made during the Durga Puja festivities.
The standardization committee meeting was chaired by Chairman PM Prasad and attended by union leaders, including Sudhir Ghurate, Majrul Haq Ansari, Nathulal Pandey, and Ramendra Singh.
Contractual workers will also receive an 8.33% bonus.
