Raipur. 23 September 2024// The dream of owning a pucca house for deprived families is becoming a reality through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Shri Ajay Shikari, a resident of Jenjradih village in the Bhardaiyadih Gram Panchayat of the Kota development block in Bilaspur district, shared his experience of living in a kutcha house, which brought numerous difficulties. He noted that during the rainy season, water would drip into the house, leading to dampness and making it hard to live comfortably. Besides, there was a risk of insects and other harmful creatures entering the kutcha house.
Shri Shikari stated, “Now, getting a pucca house through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) will provide relief from all these problems. The funds for housing construction have been transferred directly to my bank account in four installments. My house is now rapidly approaching completion. For underpriviledged families like ours, who rely on daily wage work, owing a pucca home is no less than a dream. With the government’s assistance, a long standing dream of ours is being fulfilled.” He expressed his gratitude to both the state and central governments for this public welfare initiative.
