This financial support has allowed him to continue his treatment. Lalwani family has expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for his compassionate initiative.

Lalwani family was going through a difficult time when the sole breadwinner of the household was struck by a severe kidney condition. Khiyal Das Lalwani, who supported his family through a small business in Budhwari Bazaar, saw his illness bring sorrow and disruption to the household. His wife, Mrs. Laxmi Lalwani, shared that their entire savings were depleted in the last six years due to the high cost of medical treatment, affecting the education of their two daughters. The burden of managing both the family and their daughters’ higher education became overwhelming, and Mrs. Lalwani had to take charge of the business, despite being a homemaker all her life.

Mrs. Lalwani further explained that, while their daughters managed the household expenses by offering tuition lessons alongside their studies, the rising cost of dialysis became increasingly unaffordable. It was during this time that they learned about the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme, and after applying, they promptly received approval for financial assistance. Now, her husband’s treatment is progressing smoothly. Mrs. Lalwani expressed her heartfelt gratitude, stating that this compassionate scheme has given her husband a new lease on life. She also thanked Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, acknowledging that this financial aid has helped many families like hers overcome sudden crises.

It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme i.e. Mukhyamatri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayta Yojana provides financial support of up to Rs 25 lakh for the treatment of critical illnesses. To date, 636 individuals in the district have benefitted from the scheme. This year, so far 131 patients have received the financial aid under this scheme.
