Chief Minister inaugurates Chakradhar Samaroh in Raigarh

Announced the establishment of Music College in Raigarh

Raipur, 07 September 2024// The 39th Chakradhar Samaroh commenced with a grand and colourful ceremony in Chhattisgarh’s music and art capital city Raigarh on Saturday.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the 10-day long ceremony. On occasion he said, “Music Emperor Maharaj Chakradhar has given a new identity to Indian classical music in the world. State government is fulfilling the guarantee and promises assured by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.”

Shri Sai government is working with full commitment for the progress of the state including farmers and poor. He assured all possible help to preserve the local art culture as well as traditional heritage. On this occasion, he announced the opening of Music College in Raigarh. Chief Minister paid tribute to the music exponent and scholars who have contributed in the field of music and art. On this occasion, the Chief Minister released the documentation booklet based on the rock paintings of Raigarh and the introduction booklet of Chakradhar Samaroh.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in the last five years, the organization of Chakradhar Samaroh had faded, now with the initiative of Raigarh MLA and Finance Minister in our government Shri OP Choudhary, the organization of Chakradhar Samaroh has been revived to a grand form. He said that nature has blessed Chhattisgarh with abundant mineral wealth. There is abundant store of diamond, coal, iron here, the land here has abundant fertility. The hardworking farmers and all of us will work together towards making Chhattisgarh an agricultural state. He said that as per the promise made, our government fulfilled the promise of purchasing 21 quintals per acre from the farmers of the state at the rate of Rs 3100. The remuneration rate of Tendu leaves was increased from Rs 4000 to Rs 5500 per standard sack. Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the government is transferring funds to the accounts of more than 70 lakh women across the state. The residents have got the opportunity to see Lord Shri Ram through the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana. Just two days ago, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for more than 8.5 lakh families in Chhattisgarh. He extended gratitude to the Prime Minister for this. Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated the Culture and Tourism Department for organizing the Chakradhar Samaroh in a grand and attractive form in a new form.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released a coffee table book based on research in Brahmi script and Kharosthi script by Shri Vinay Pandey. On this occasion, Shri Pandey presented a name plate written in Brahmi script to the Chief Minister.

Agriculture Development and Farmer Welfare Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam said that Maharaj Chakradhar has preserved the art and music of the Raigarh Gharana. His contribution has given new height to art and music in the country and the world. Samrat Chakradhar has given a new dimension to art and culture by providing a platform to local artists along with classical art and music, which cannot be forgotten. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the art and culture of the state is working diligently for the preservation and promotion of the heritage.

Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary, while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Chakradhar Samaroh, said that Chakradhar Samaroh will be organized in a grand manner and it is being organized in a grand form with the cooperation of the district administration, culture department and tourism department. He said that eight eminent Padma Shri artists of the country are coming to participate in this event. The importance of Chakradhar Samaroh can be gauged from the fact that renowned artists from different provinces of the country wish to give their performance here. He congratulated and wished the organizers including the district administration for this grand event. On this occasion, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Kunwar Devendra Pratap Singh, Raigarh Member of Parliament Radheshyam Rathia, Smt. Urvashi Singh of the royal family, Smt. Bijaya Singh along with other public representatives and a large number of citizens were present.
