Chief Minister Shri Sai announces the construction of a new community hall within the district court premises

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of the Bilaspur District Bar Association on September 4. He administered the oath to the newly elected members and announced the construction of a new community hall within the district court premises, a long-standing demand of the Bar Association. President of the District Bar Association, Shri Dauram Chandrawanshi, presided over the ceremony. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao was also present as a distinguished guest.

In his address, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the new office-bearers, highlighting that the Bilaspur District Bar Association is the oldest and most esteemed advocates’ organisation in the state, with around 3,500 prominent members. He noted the association’s historic role, particularly its members’ involvement in the independence movement, and acknowledged the many notable politicians and jurists it has produced. The Chief Minister recognised the challenges faced by advocates but praised their vital role in ensuring justice for all, regardless of wealth or status. He also assured the association of the government’s commitment to appointing members to the Revenue Board and Permanent Lok Adalat as requested. Additionally, he extended his warm greetings for the upcoming Teeja and Ganesh Chaturthi festivals.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao emphasised the Bilaspur District Bar Association’s illustrious history, noting that the legal experts and politicians emerging from this institution have greatly contributed to Bilaspur’s prestige. He remarked on the rapid development of court facilities over the past 10-12 years and affirmed that this progress will continue. The welcome address was delivered by District Bar Association President Shri Dauram Chandrawanshi.

Advocate General Shri Prafull N Bharat, MLAs Shri Amar Agarwal, Shri Dharamlal Kaushik, Shri Dilip Lahariya, Shri Atal Shrivastava, Shri Sushant Shukla, Mayor Shri Ram Sharan Yadav, Principal District and Sessions Judge Smt Neeta Yadav, Patron Bar Association Shri SK Sinha, and representative of the Bar Council of India Shri Shailendra Dubey were present as special guests. Collector Shri Awanish Sharan, SP Rajnesh Singh, as well as judges, advocates, and prominent citizens of the city were also present.
