*39th Chakradhar Samaroh to be held from 7th to 16th September, Renowned Artists to Perform
Inauguration to Feature Dance-Drama by Padma Shri Hema Malini

Raipur, 1st September 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai was formally invited to the 39th Chakradhar Festival today by Raigarh Collector Shri Kartikeya Goyal and Superintendent of Police Shri Divyang Patel during a courtesy call at his residence in Raipur. The Chief Minister graciously accepted the invitation and extended his best wishes for the success of the event.
On the occasion, Chief Minister said that “Chakradhar Samaroh” is a significant part of Raigarh’s cultural identity. He said that performances by internationally and nationally acclaimed artists further elevate the prestige of Chakradhar Samaroh. Shri Sai, who has previously served as a Member of Parliament representing Raigarh, shared his deep personal connection to the event, saying that he has closely observed the growth of Raigarh district over the years. He further emphasized that Maharaja Chakradhar has bestowed an invaluable cultural legacy upon Raigarh, which continues to flourish. The popularity of Chakradhar Samaroh is evident from the anticipation and enthusiasm among artists and art enthusiasts regarding the event. Chief Minister Shri Sai also emphasized the importance of prominently featuring local folk artists in the festival.
Collector Shri Kartikeya Goyal provided the Chief Minister with key details about the upcoming event. He informed that this year’s ten-day Chakradhar Samaroh will showcase performances by prominent artists, and will also provide a platform for local folk artists to display their talents.
It is noteworthy that the 39th Chakradhar Samaroh will be held from 7th to 16th September 2024 at Ramleela Ground, Raigarh district headquarters. The inaugural ceremony will feature a dance-drama titled ‘Radha Rasbihari’ performed by Padma Shri Hema Malini, while the concluding ceremony will include a poetry recitation by Dr. Kumar Vishwas. During the festival, cultural evenings will be held daily from 6 PM onwards, featuring performances in various art forms by distinguished artists.
