Raipur, 28 August 2024/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is on a mission to foster transparency and good governance within the administration, and to ensure development of even the remotest part of the tribal areas in the state. Expansion of new camps is underway in the interior regions of the Bastar division, while ‘Niyad Nellanar’ scheme has been launched to specifically serve the interest of particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs). This initiative, akin to the PM Janman Yojana, is benefiting the residents of villages within a five-kilometer radius of these camps by providing access to 53 beneficiary-oriented schemes across 17 departments and 28 community facilities.
The rapid implementation Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s guarantees can be attributed to this proactive approach. With Shri Modi securing his third term as Prime Minister, the double-engine government is functioning effectively in the state. State government has decided to provide an annual assistance of Rs 10,000 to landless farmers under the Deendayal Upadhyay Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana. Moreover, a decision has been made to distribute free food grains to 68 lakh families holding Antyodaya and priority ration cards for the next five years. Fulfilling its promises, the state government purchased paddy from farmers at a rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal and up to 21 quintals per acre. A record procurement of 145 lakh metric tons of paddy has been achieved. Due to the farmer-friendly policies of the state, agriculture has been revitalized, bringing smiles to the faces of the farmers.
Upon taking charge, Chief Minister Shri Sai made it a priority to ensure expedited implementation of PM Shri Modi’s guarantees and within just eight months of his tenure, he has made significant strides in in this direction. Under his leadership, numerous public welfare decisions have been taken within a short span of eight months, aimed at the progress and prosperity of all sections of society. The popularity of the state government is rapidly increasing. The state government is committed to the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,’ working tirelessly for the welfare of the people.
To fulfill yet another guarantee, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s government has launched Mahtari Vandan Yojana, benefiting nearly 70 lakh women in the state. On the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, observed as Good Governance Day on 25th December, Rs 3,716 crores was transferred as arrears for two years of paddy bonus to the bank accounts of around 13 lakh farmers in the state.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had declared that those who play with the future of the youth would not be spared. Acting swiftly on this guarantee, the Chief Minister handed over the investigation of the irregularities and malpractices in the 2021 State Civil Services Examination (PSC) during the previous government’s tenure to the CBI. The state government has also entrusted the Mahadev Satta app case to the CBI, considering the public interest. Additionally, a decision has been made to conduct a CBI investigation into the Birnampur incident in Bemetara district. The Vishnu Deo Sai government, in line with Modi’s guarantee, has introduced the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, a unique and exemplary initiative in India, which allows devotees to visit Ayodhya Dham at the government’s expense. As Chhattisgarh is considered the maternal home of Lord Ram, this scheme holds special significance for the state. Every citizen of Chhattisgarh is eager to visit Ram’s maternal home.
Within hours of taking the oath, Chief Minister Shri Sai decided to provide permanent housing to 18 lakh families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Alongside the provision of housing, Prime Minister Shri Modi launched the Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure access to clean drinking water for all. For its implementation in the state, a budget of Rs 4,500 crore has been allocated. The goal is to provide tap connections to 50 lakh rural households in Chhattisgarh, of which 39 lakh 31 thousand households have already been covered. The state government has also decided to implement the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana along with the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Health Scheme, providing free healthcare services up to Rs 5 lakh to 77 lakh 20 thousand families in Chhattisgarh. Additionally, the remuneration for tendu leaf collectors in the state has been increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,500 per standard bag. This year, Rs 855.80 crore has been disbursed to 13 lakh 5 thousand tendu leaf collectors.
The Department of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development has increased the number of seats for candidates preparing for the UPSC from 50 to 185 at the youth hostel in New Delhi. Similar to the Nalanda campus in the state capital Raipur, fully equipped libraries will be constructed in 13 other urban bodies of the state. To strengthen healthcare facilities, medical education is being continuously expanded in the state. A decision has been made to establish the Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) at the divisional level, modeled after AIIMS. A new industrial policy for the state will be implemented on 1st November 2024, aimed at generating large-scale employment opportunities for the youth and accelerating the state’s economy. The state government is developing Naya Raipur as an IT hub and an innovation hub. Similar to the National Capital Region (NCR), the state government is also planning to develop a State Capital Region. The state government has decided to provide interest-free loans with 50 percent subsidy to young entrepreneurs under the Chhattisgarh Udyam Kranti Yojana, thereby offering more opportunities to the youth.
