Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana: Jagruti Receives a Cheque of Rs 20,000

Nearly 8,846 Beneficiaries in Mahasamund District benefitted under the scheme

Raipur, 20 July 2024/ Under the good governance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, pregnant women in the state are being provided plethora of benefits and facilities through Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide financial aid for childbirth to pregnant women from economically weaker background, thereby benefiting them and their families. Under this scheme, Chhattisgarh government provides the registered beneficiaries with a maternity aid amount of Rs 20,000. State Government aims to provide benefits of this scheme to the maximum number of women in need.

Since the launch of the Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana, as many as 8,846 beneficiaries in Mahasamund district have been benefitted under the scheme so far. One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Jagruti Sahu, a resident of Subhash Nagar in Mahasamund, was provided a financial aid of Rs 20,000. Jagruti mentioned that she is a registered worker with the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Praising the scheme, she said that the state government is continuously working to benefit economically weaker families. She said that the amount received is being utilized for the proper upbringing and care of the child.

Eligibility for Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana

It is noteworthy that to avail the benefits of ‘Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana’, it is mandatory for women workers to be registered under the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. To avail the benefits, the beneficiary must apply online through the Labour Department, Public Service Center, or VLE within 90 days of the child’s birth, along with the worker registration certificate, ration card, Aadhaar card, heir’s Aadhaar card, bank passbook, mobile number, birth certificate of the child, and original documents.
