Launches Tree Plantation Drive under Green Durg Campaign

Plants maulshree and almond saplings at stadium, flags off door-to-door free plantation vehicle

Raipur, 21 June 2024/ Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma took part in the mass yoga demonstration program organized at Ravishankar Stadium, Durg, to mark the tenth International Yoga Day. The event saw participation from several dignitaries, including MLA Shri Gajendra Yadav, Divisional Commissioner Shri Satyanarayan Rathore, IG Shri RG Garg, Collector Sushri Richa Prakash Chaudhary, and SP Shri Jitendra Shukla. Along with department officials and school students, they practiced various yoga postures.

Chief Guest Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, in his address to the city residents, extended his wishes for a Happy Yoga Day. He stated, “21st June is the day on which the initiative of Indian culture was adopted by the whole world. This tradition should continue to move forward every year.”

Addressing the programme, MLA Shri Yadav highlighted the significance of yoga, stating that it is a vital aspect of life. Yoga is a powerful medium through which physical and intellectual development is possible.

In addition to the yoga session, Shri Sharma inaugurated the tree plantation drive under the Green Durg Campaign by planting Maulshree and almond saplings within the stadium premises. He also flagged off a door-to-door free tree plantation vehicle. A large number of people were present in the programme.
