International Yoga Day : Yoga has become a part of global culture – Governor Shri Harichandan

Governor participates in yoga camp organized at Raj Bhavan

Raipur, 21 June 2024/ “Yoga is an ancient Indian tradition that has now become a part of global culture. Through yoga, practitioners from around the world are connecting with each other and promoting cultural unity”, said Governor Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan while addressing the yoga camp organized at Raj Bhavan on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

Governor Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan participated in the yoga camp organized at Raj Bhavan today on the occasion of International Yoga Day. On this occasion, he stated that yoga promotes a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Meditation and yoga provide mental peace, and promotes positive thinking in society. Yoga keeps both the body and mind healthy and protects us from diseases.

The Governor mentioned that yoga establishes harmony between our body, mind, thoughts, and nature. It paves the way for health and well-being. Yoga is not just an exercise but also assists in physical and intellectual development. It fosters a sense of unity with oneself, the world, and nature. Yoga not only keeps us healthy but also brings changes in our conduct, thoughts, and behavior. It is indeed a matter of pride for us that the holistic benefits of Yoga are being globally recognized today.

During the program, all officials and employees of Raj Bhavan enthusiastically practiced yoga under the guidance of trainers from the Yoga Commission. The Governor honored the trainers from the Yoga Commission by presenting them with state scarves, ‘Shriphal’, and mementos.

Secretary to Governor Shri Yashwant Kumar, Legal Advisor Shri Rajesh Srivastava, Deputy Secretary Mrs Hina Animesh Netam, along with other officers and employees of Raj Bhavan, participated in the yoga demonstration. The yoga session at Raj Bhavan was conducted under the leadership of yoga instructors Shri Ashok Sahu, Shri Anand Sahu, and Shri Bhojraj Sahu and their team.
