NTPC Sipat proudly concluded the 4th edition of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the “Girl Empowerment Mission” (GEM), on June 17, 2024. The official closing ceremony was held with great enthusiasm and joy, celebrating the achievements and growth of the 117 young girls from 50 schools across 31 project-affected villages who participated in this month-long program.
The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including , Shri C. Sivakumar RED (WR-II, USSC, Ash-NI), Shri V.K. Pandey, BUH, NTPC Sipat, Shri. Srijit Kumar, GM (CPG-2), Shri. Anil Shankar Sharan, GM (O&M), Smt. C. Padmaja, President, Arpita Mahila Samiti, Smt. Sadhna Pandey, President, Sangwari Mahila Samiti, and senior members of Sangwari Mahila Samiti. GMs, HoDs, Representatives of Unions and Associations, media personnel, parents also graced the event with their presence. The energetic performances by the GEM girls captivated the audience and received hearty applause.
The event highlighted the diverse experiences and skills gained by the girls. During the one month long residential workshop the girls received training in health & hygiene, yoga, self-defense, arts and crafts, performing arts, and communication skills, pottery, alongside their academic activities, nurturing their overall development.
Through this initiative, NTPC Sipat has successfully sown the seeds of possibility and opportunity, fostering the growth and aspirations of these 117 young girls and reaffirming its dedication to driving positive change for future generations.
The conclusion of the 4th edition of the GEM Program marked a significant milestone for NTPC Sipat, impacting 480 girls so far and enriching societal fabric. NTPC Sipat celebrated their accomplishments and bright futures, reaffirming the company’s commitment to empowering the community.
