‘My Health, My Right’: NTPC Korba observes World Health Day 2024

On the eve of World Health Day, NTPC Korba organised a walk as a part of the event. It is celebrated annually and each year draws attention to a specific health topic of concern to people all over the world. The date of 7 April marks the anniversary of the founding of WHO in 1948.

This year the World Health Organization (WHO) has chosen ‘My Health, My Right’ as the theme of World Health Day 2024. This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination.

BUH NTPC Korba, Shri Sarit Maheshwari took a pledge to adopt healthy habits to prevent lifestyle-related health problems and made people aware of the importance of health.

The convoy of this walkathon was joined by BUH Korba, GM (O&M) Shri Arnab Mitra, GM (Maintenance) Somnath Bhattacharya, CMO (NTPC Korba Hospital) Dr Vinod Kolhatkar, President Maitri Mahila Samiti, Smt. Rakhi Maheshwari, all the doctors of NTPC Korba Hospital, Korba hospital staff, union and association representatives, office bearers of Maitri Mahila Samiti, CISF personnel, executives, employees of NTPC Korba, and also, the children participated enthusiastically.

World Health Day is one of 11 official global health campaigns marked by WHO, this NTPC Korba in line with its objective of being a learning organisation, Korba has continuously focused on the training and development of its human resources. NTPC Korba’s view of employee development and well-being has a very wide perspective and is not constrained to job-related inputs alone. With this, today, NTPC Korba has yet again proved to take immense pride in its employees who are its greatest asset. It believes that efficiency, effectiveness and success of the organisation depend largely on the skills, abilities, commitment and most importantly, well-being of the employees.
