Success Story : Phones ringing with message notifications, message of joy and pride for women across the state

PM Modi’s guarantee fulfilled with the transfer of funds under Mahtari Vandan Yojana

Raipur, 11 March 2024/ Phones have started ringing, bringing the message of joy for women across the state, notifying that they have received the amount in their bank accounts under Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Earlier, Lata used to look for ways to save up a little money every day and deposit it in her bank account. Today, she is overwhelmed and happy because now she will have a thousand rupees of her own in her bank account every month. PM Modi’s guarantee is being fulfilled through effective implementation of Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Dwasa Bai, Kailash Bai, Sukrita, Yamini Kashyap and many beneficiaries like them are immensely happy to have received Rs 1,000 in their accounts this month and they are relieved to have an assurance of receiving the same amount every month. Different women beneficiaries have different plans about how to use the money received, but all of them are grateful for the government’s initiative to empower them financially.

Sukrita Bai and Yamini Kashyap of village Kasaipali of Katghora block told that ever since they had submitted their application, they were waiting for the amount to be deposited into their account. And finally, Prime Minister has transferred the funds under Mahtari Vandan Yojana in their accounts. They have thanked the government for providing a financial cushion, making it easier for them to make it through the last few days of the month. Women told that often by the end of the month, they run out of money, and they have no one to help them meet their expenses. But with Mahtari Vandan Yojana, they will no longer need help from others. Dwasa Bai of village Deori, who works as a daily wage labourer told that this one thousand rupees will be very useful for her. With the money in her account, she will be able to buy some essential items for the house. 65 year old Shyam Bai of village Ghana Dabri said that she had no source of income, she lives with her daughter Lata. With one thousand rupees every month, she will have the confidence that she can provide for herself to certain extent. Gomti Sahu of Bankimongra and Kunti Mahant of Ghana Cachar praised this initiative of the government and affirmed that they will put the money towards good use. It is noteworthy that more than 70 lakh women of the state and 2 lakh 95 thousand 405 women in Korba district have been benefited from Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
