Applications for ration card supply can be submitted through the app of Food and Civil Supplies Department as well
Raipur, 07 February 2024 . Renewal of all 77 lakh ration cards is currently in progress under public distribution system of Chhattisgarh. The work of Ration Card Renewal was commenced on January 25. As of February 07, 43 lakh 83 thousand 497 ration card holders across the state have submitted online applications for renewal. People are also submitting their applications for renewal of ration cards through the mobile app of Food and Civil Supplies Department.
It is noteworthy that the process of ration card renewal was started from 25 January and it will go on till 15 February 2024. According to the information received from the department, out of the total 2 lakh 21 thousand 809 applications received across the state, 1 lakh 70 thousand 872 applications have been received from Balod district, which is highest in the state. Second highest number of online applications in the state have been received from Kanker district. In Kanker, out of total 1 lakh 87 thousand 999 beneficiaries, 1 lakh 35 thousand 725 beneficiaries have applied online for ration card renewal. Dhamtari district has secured third position in terms of the number of online applications received for ration card renewal. A total of 1 lakh 73 thousand 413 applications have been received from Dhamtari district.
A new mobile app of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has been developed specificially for ration card renewal. People can download this app on mobile phones from Play Store. Beneficiaries can also download the app from the website of the Food Department . Ration card holders can submit online application for renewal through this mobile app. For those beneficiaries who do not have an Android mobile or who have no mobile connectivity in their area, Government has arranged online application facility for renewal of ration cards in the fair price shops as well.
