Women hail the scheme as a unique empowerment initiative
Bastar division sees remarkable response with 93,828 applications submitted

There is huge excitement among the women of the Bastar region for Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Women are actively applying for the scheme both online through the mobile application and offline by visiting Anganwadi centers and Panchayats.
The Mahtari Vandan Yojana, initiated to promote women’s empowerment and financial independence, as well as enhancing their health and nutritional status while strengthening their role in family decision-making, has garnered significant interest. In the Bastar region alone, a total of 93,828 women have submitted applications for the scheme. Among these applicants, 35,590 are from Bastar, 2,428 from Bijapur, 14,719 from Dantewada, 9,706 from Kanker, 27,396 from Kondagaon, 926 from Narayanpur, and 3,063 from Sukma.
Sharing her thoughts in the local Halbi dialect, Smt. Asmati Kashyap, a resident of Lalbagh in Jagdalpur city, expressed her joy, stating that the assistance of Rs 1000 per month under this scheme would greatly benefit them. She intends to utilize the amount for purchasing vegetables and other necessities. Similarly, Smt. Swati Rao, a resident of Adawal shared her intent to use the funds for daily essentials. Smt. Rukmini and Smt. Krishnadevi of Adawal also conveyed their gratitude, thanking Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for the implementation of this initiative aimed at women’s empowerment.
