Martyr Colonel Viplav Tripathi’s father pays courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Sai, invites him to the unveiling ceremony of the newly-installed statue of the martyr

Raipur, 3 January 2024/ Shri Subhash Tripathi, father of martyr Colonel Viplav Tripathi, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at the State Guest House Pahuna. Shri Tripathi informed Chief Minister that Martyr Colonel Viplav Tripathi Memorial Trust has installed a statue of Martyr Colonel Shri Viplav Tripathi in front of Colonel Viplav Tripathi Stadium, Raigarh. A memorial plaque has also been installed here. Shri Tripathi invited Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai to attend the statue unveiling program.


On the occasion, Chief Minister said that the brave son of Raigarh district, Martyr Colonel Viplav Tripathi sacrificed his life for the country. His martyrdom will continue to inspire us. It will be an honor for me to be present at the unveiling of his statue, said Shri Sai. Meanwhile, martyr Colonel Tripathi’s maternal uncle Shri Rajesh Patnaik and Gokul Patnaik were also present.
It is noteworthy that Colonel Tripathi had taken commission in Kumaon Regiment in the year 2003. He worked in various postings such as Siachen, Kupwara, Nowshera, Congo, Mathura, Wellington etc. On 13 November 2021, in a bid to save soldiers in an ambush by separatist groups in Bihang bordering Myanmar, he fought till the last bullet, but eventually attained martyrdom with his wife Anuja and son Abir.
