7 Independent Directors from Coal India visited Gevra and Kusmunda mines, took review meeting at the headquarters
Independent directors from Coal India Limited are Shri Denesh Singh, Shri G. Nageswara Rao, Shri B. Rajesh Chander, Shri Punambhai Kalabhai Makwana, Shri Kamesh Kant Acharya, Shri Arun Kumar Oraon, and Shri Ghanshyam Singh Rathore reached SECL Headquarters Bilaspur yesterday on 23/12/2023 on the last day of the two-day visit where CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra and SECL functional directors warmly welcomed them.
A review meeting was attended by the Directors at the Headquarters. In the meeting, through a presentation by the SECL team, the company’s production productivity, achievements of the last financial year, coal production in this financial year, dispatch, OBR and first half results, land acquisition, environment, CSR, rail corridor, FMC were discussed.
Review of mining activities in the country’s largest Gevra mine and Kusmunda mega project
Earlier, on the first day of the tour yesterday, the directors took stock of the mining activities in SECL’s Gevra and Kusmunda mines. First of all the directors reached Gevra and took a close look at the coal mining activities. The directors of the mine reached the coal face and saw the operation of the vertical reaper and how coal is mined without any blasting. While taking stock of OBR activities, he learned about how a 42 cubic meter shovel and a 240 tonne dumper are operated. Before the inspection of Gevra mine, tree plantation was done in Mango Kanan by all the independent directors.
After the visit to Gevra, all the directors visited the Kusmunda mine and after reaching the view point, learned about the operational activities of the mine through the mine plan. All the directors were informed about the production-productivity of the mine through a presentation by the Kusmunda team.
Director (Technical cum Planning/Project) Shri SN Kapri, Director (Finance) Shri G Srinivasan and Director (Personnel) Shri Debasis Acharyya accompanied the independent directors from SECL on the tour.
