NTPC Lara celebrates its 11th Raising Day with fervour.

NTPC Lara, 1600-megawatt power station of power major NTPC Limited, celebrates its 11th foundation day with great zeal and fervour. Diwakar Kaushik, Executive Director (NTPC Lara) along with all General Managers and representatives of union and association cut the cake and greeted each other by offering sweets. Addressing the employees, Kaushik appreciated all employees for their tireless efforts to bring this new plant to a position in the national level. In this financial year NTPC Lara station generated 8005 million units with 81.75 percent plant load factor.

Being laced with super critical technology and highly efficient plant the power houses of this plant generated electricity in less coal consumption in comparison to other sub-critical and super critical power stations. NTPC Lara is the third highly efficient plant among all NTPC power plants and 40.6 percent more efficient in comparison to other sub-critical and supercritical plant. With high efficiency NTPC Lara can produce affordable electricity for nation building.

NTPC Lara is on the verge of expansion. In the near future it is going to add another 1600 megawatt by installing two more 800 megawatt units. The lion share 50 percent of generated electricity from this plant is supplied to Chhattisgarh state and rest is supplied to Gujrat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Daman and Diu. NTPC Lara undertakes various developmental activities by its CSR-CD activities in the field of Education, Health, Drinking Water and infrastructure development of surrounding villages, including Raigarh district and Chhattisgarh state.
