On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Chhattisgarh High Court building and paid tribute to him. The program began with the National Anthem. On this occasion, all the judges of the High Court, the Attorney General, the President of the Bar Association, the Deputy Solicitor General of India, senior advocates, officials, and employees were present.
On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 154 birth anniversary, Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha, addressing the event, stated that Mahatma Gandhi, affectionately known as ‘Bapu’, is not just a name but a unique institution that transcends caste, religion, and national boundaries. He referred to the High Court as the highest institution of justice and impartiality, emphasizing its role as the center of justice.
He mentioned that the United Nations General Assembly has declared today as International Day of Non-Violence to honour the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha also motivated people to actively engage in self-reflection and draw inspiration from Bapu’s principles to actively strive for a clean, prestigious, and peaceful nation. On this occasion, he also remembered former Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of his birth anniversary and expressed that he is appreciated across the country for his simplicity and decisiveness.
The program was also addressed by Senior Advocate Shri Satish Chandra Verma, President of the Chhattisgarh High Court Bar Association, Shri Abdul Wahaab Khan, and Deputy Solicitor General of India, Shri Ramakant Mishra.
