Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the ‘Netaji Newsroom Mein’ program organised by the Dainik Bhaskar group in Raipur on Saturday. During the program, he stated that the state government has committed to bolstering the rural economy. He highlighted the key initiatives of the state government, including waivers of farmer’s loans and dues on irrigation taxes. Chhattisgarh is at the forefront of providing the highest MSP to farmers nationwide. Over the past five years, the state government has focused on elevating all sections of society, with special emphasis on farmers, tribals, workers, children, the elderly, women, and youth.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel highlighted the pressing issues the state faced initially, including 40 percent of the population living below the poverty line, 41 percent of children suffering from malnutrition, and 47 percent of women between 15 and 59 years facing anaemia. Under his leadership, the state government has implemented various welfare schemes, with 40 lakh individuals in the state alleviated of multidimensional poverty. Chief Minister Suposhan Abhiyan rescued over two lakh malnourished children and freed more than 1.5 lakh women from anaemia. In ‘Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana’, the state government is providing Rs 25 lakh for medical treatment, while the Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store Scheme offers a 72 percent discount on essential medicines.

The state government’s proactive approach to addressing issues in the Bastar region has yielded significant results. With the policy of ‘Vikas, Vishwas, and Suraksha’ (development, trust, and security), the administration has improved the lives of its residents. Notably, the state government has granted agricultural status to fish farming, lac farming, and beekeeping in a bid to boost the income of remote forest regions. Additionally, the state government is supporting the purchase of minor forest produce such as Kodo, Kutki, and Ragi at MSP and has also initiated millet processing units. A major milestone in this effort is the establishment of Asia’s largest millet processing unit in Kanker. Furthermore, the state government’s commitment to education is evident in the reopening of hundreds of closed schools in the Bastar region, securing a brighter future for the next generation and restricting the scope of Naxalites in the area.

The Chief Minister shared that the state government has initiated innovative healthcare solutions, bringing essential services to remote areas. The Haat Bazaar Clinic Yojana was initiated to increase health service accessibility and position clinics within major markets, recognising that people often visit markets even if they don’t go to clinics. Though initially the scheme met with resistance from the sarpanch, it gradually gained acceptance as its benefits became apparent. In previously underprivileged regions like Bastar, where diseases like BP and diabetes were unfamiliar, the Haat Bazaar Clinics not only identified prevalent health issues but also facilitated treatment for the identified individuals. Till now, over 1.86 crore residents have benefited from this initiative, showcasing its significant impact. Furthermore, the successful ‘Malaria Mukt Bastar’ campaign stands as a testament to the state government’s dedication to eradicating health challenges in remote areas, effectively combating malaria in the Bastar region.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel stated that no complaint has been made by any candidates who appeared in the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (PSC) exam. He affirmed that if the state government will receive any complaint in this regard, it will thoroughly investigate the matter and take appropriate action. Mr. Baghel stressed that eligible candidates should rightfully benefit from their hard work. In a supportive message to the youth, Mr. Baghel urged them not to be misled and to continue their preparation with diligence. He assured that any wrongdoing would be thoroughly examined, and those found guilty would face consequences.

Advisors to the Chief Minister, Mr. Vinod Verma and Mr. Ruchir Garg, along with dignitaries and various public representatives, were present.
