Raipur, 29 September 23

Government schemes serve as a ray of hope and help fulfil the dreams of many individuals who aspire to achieve financial success but often encounter obstacles along the way. One such story is that of Mr. Suresh Kumar Yadav, a beneficiary of the Livestock Development Department of the Chhattisgarh government.

Mr. Suresh Kumar Yadav, a resident of Birbira village in Mahasamund development block, shared that he faced financial difficulties in the year 2019-20. In search of a new source of income, he went to the Livestock Development Department of the Chhattisgarh government. During his visit, he learned about the National Artificial Insemination Scheme, which offers free artificial insemination services to beneficiaries. Under the scheme semen from advanced breed bulls are used for insemination. The department and private artificial insemination workers conduct the procedure at the homes of the beneficiaries.

Mr. Suresh Kumar Yadav received assistance from the Livestock department to artificially inseminate his cow due to its low milk production. The department used semen from an advanced breed Sahiwal bull for the insemination. Mr. Suresh Kumar Yadav followed the department’s instructions for caring and feeding his cow and took advantage of the department’s free vaccination initiative. As a result of the artificial insemination in 2020-21, a genetically superior heifer was born, leading to increased milk production. Mr. Suresh Yadav follows all the guidelines provided by  department and is benefiting from the National Artificial Insemination Scheme. With the support of the Chhattisgarh government’s Livestock Development Department, Mr. Yadav plans to expand his farm and establish a small-scale dairy farm to improve his economic situation. He now earns approximately Rs 4.00 lakh annually. Furthermore, the women in Mr. Yadav’s household are enthusiastic about raising cows.

Mr. Yadav expressed gratitude towards the department and Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for launching such public welfare schemes that aided him in reaching his goal.
