The state-level Chhattisgarhiya Olympics, showcasing traditional sports steeped in Chhattisgarhi culture, have begun with players competing fiercely. During an exciting competition showcasing traditional sports deeply rooted in Chhattisgarhi culture, players gave their all to outdo each other. Bed Bai, Gomti Dhruv, Meera Kanwar, and Champa Kanwar from Gariaband district expressed their appreciation towards Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel in promoting traditional sports through Chhattisgarhiya Olympics. Memories of their childhood came flooding back as they shared their experiences. They have been selected from the district level and have now made it to the division level, with the state-level sports competition on the horizon. They expressed their gratitude towards Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for the excellent arrangements made for accommodation and food for the players.
 
Mr.Vikram Yadav, Mr. Durgesh Sahu, Mr. Lavkesh Yadav, and Mr. Sanjay Kaivart from Bilaspur shared their positive experience of participating in the Chhattisgarhiya Olympics competition. Mr. Sanjay  added that Chhattisgarhiya Olympics is supporting athletes from all categories by promoting traditional sports, thereby allowing players to exhibit their talents. The sports competition witnessed the participation of individuals of all ages, including men and women over 40.
 
A three-day Kho-Kho competition is organized at the Netaji Subhash Stadium in Raipur as part of the state-level Chhattisgarhiya Olympics. Players who have made it through the district level are selected to participate in this event at the division level. The competition includes 360 players and 12 coach managers across the state. Ground-in-charge of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Mr. Chetan Kumar Srivas, said that the competition is divided into three age categories. A total of 30 Kho-Kho matches have been arranged for boys and girls under 18, as well as men and women between the ages of 18 and 40 and those over 40. The top three players will be recognized on the final day of the event.
 
Today’s game was a hit among the spectators, who cheered on the players throughout. The players showcased their sporting abilities in five phases and have now advanced to the sixth phase—the Chhattisgarhiya Olympics at the state level. The competition will continue until September 27, and players from five divisions, including Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Bastar, and Surguja, will represent their respective regions. The administration has ensured all necessary arrangements for the event.
