“Soil to Be Sent from Every Village for Developing Amrit Vatika Garden in Delhi

“Raipur, September 23, 2023/’Meri Maati, Mera Desh,’ a patriotic series of programs to honor the anonymous heroes and martyrs of India’s freedom struggle and introduce students to the lives of such valiant figures, will be conducted in all schools across the state.A Kalash Yatra will be organized to collect soil from every village, development block, and district, and it will be sent to Delhi for the Amrit Vatika Garden

In the first phase of the “Meri Maati, Mera Desh” program, schools and communities will conduct various activities to foster a deep sense of patriotism and commemorate the sacrifices made during India’s struggle for independence. These activities will include establishing memorials in honor of local heroes who played a crucial role in the fight for freedom and paying respect to freedom fighters and their families. The community will actively participate in various programs, including singing the national anthem and hoisting the flag. Additionally, special morning assemblies will be organized in all government, private, and grant-receiving schools, where students will actively participate in flag-raising ceremonies using flags obtained from local post offices. Sports and cultural events, such as relay races, local sports competitions, dramas, role-plays, and more, will be held to celebrate India’s rich heritage and history. Students will also have the opportunity to showcase their talents through various competitions, including essay writing, art, poster-making, sculpture, rangoli, and patriotic song and poem competitions. Distinguished guests, including school principals and community leaders, will be invited to address and inspire students, instilling a profound sense of national pride and reverence for India’s freedom struggle.

In the second phase of this program, under the leadership of the Collector, a coordinated effort will be made to collect soil from all villages and wards at the local level before September 30th. Municipal offices at the development block level will assist in consolidating all collected soil from villages and wards by October 13th. This gathered soil, in the form of urns (kalash), will then be transported to a designated location at the state level. The soil will be brought to Delhi before October 27th as part of this initiative.

As part of this program, citizens can visit the portal merimaatimeradesh.gov.in to take a pledge. On this portal, they can upload photos related to their involvement in activities such as working, planting saplings, holding a handful of soil, and more. By doing so, they will receive a certificate in the name of “Meri maati, Mera desh,” which can also be downloaded. Through this program, a commitment will be made to realize the dream of making India self-reliant and developed by the year 2047.
