Teeja-Pora Tihar: Women from all over the state visited the Chief Minister’s residence to celebrate Teeja-Pora

Applied Mehendi on hands and Mahur on feet

Raipur, 14 September 2023/ Pora Tihar was celebrated with great splendor at the residence of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, where a large number of women participated, as is customary each year. Full of enthusiasm, women applied Alta on their feet and Mehendi on their hands. They were also quite excited about receiving sarees and makeup items as gifts.

Women from every corner of the state had visited to celebrate the festival. Mrs. Shobha Chahil, Mrs. Taruna Sharma, and Mrs. Sharda Kashyap of Bilaspur said that they come to the Chief Minister’s residence every year to celebrate Teeja Pora Tihar. They experience a sense of belonging when they come here. They are showered with love and affection reminiscent of their “Mayka” (mother’s house), and during the “Bidai” (farewell) ceremony, they receive beautiful sarees, makeup items, and Chhattisgarhi dishes as gifts.
 
Mrs. Seema Baghel and Mrs. Dulari Verma from Bhilai, Mrs. Satyawati from Durg, and Mrs. Asha Chauhan of Raipur, who came to celebrate the Teeja-Pora festival at the Chief Minister’s residence, thanked the Chief Minister and said that the festival of Teeja is for the mothers, sisters, and daughters of Chhattisgarh state. Today, we all rejoiced in celebrating this festival.
