State government initiated various efforts to elevate the economic status of farmers; the purchase of 20 quintals of paddy per acre from farmers, regardless of any challenges that may arise.

Raipur, 12 September 2023/ Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit in Nagri-Sihawa of Dhamtari district, aimed at preserving and developing the sites related to Lord Shri Ram. This part of the Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit, developed at a cost of Rs. 9.61 crores, features a 30-foot white statue of Lord Shri Ram. Following the inauguration, the Chief Minister joined the Karneshwar Ramayana Mahotsav in Sihawa, celebrating the sacred land’s rich cultural heritage.

During the Ramayana Mahotsav, the Chief Minister emphasised the ideals of Ramrajya, where everyone receives respect and equal opportunities. He highlighted the state government’s commitment to drawing inspiration from Lord Shri Ram to ensure respect and opportunities for all citizens. The state government is actively engaged in uplifting the economic status of farmers and labourers, generating better employment opportunities, and ensuring the purchase of 20 quintals of paddy per acre from farmers, regardless of any challenges that may arise.

The Chief Minister highlighted the development of locations traversed by Lord Shri Ram in Chhattisgarh, starting with Mata Kaushalya’s sacred place in Chandkhuri. He shared the state government’s plans to select and develop 10 locations across the state as part of the Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit. Additionally, he mentioned that the state government has organised the nation’s first National Ramayana Mahotsav. He also shared the state government’s ongoing development efforts in Sihawa city, focusing on places associated with Lord Shri Ram.

Home and Tourism Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu shared the state government’s investment of Rs. 162 crore in the development of the Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit across the entire state. The state government has implemented a tourism policy to boost the sector, attract tourists, and promote overall regional development.

The Chief Minister inaugurated a coffee table book prepared for the National Festival. Additionally, he handed over a cheque of Rs. 5000 each to the following cultural groups: Ramsiya Manas Mandali of Kotgaon; Ramsiya Manas Mandali of Kurud; Jagatrani Manas Parivar of Nagri; Jai Tulsi Manas Parivar of Kanker; and Bastariya Manas Mandal of Kondagaon, for the purchase of musical instruments. The Chief Minister also honoured the renowned devotional singer Anup Jalota, who attended the festival.

The development project, worth Rs. 8.29 crore, includes the construction of a statue of Lord Shri Ram, Shri Ram Vatika, deep stambh, statues of the seven sages (Saptarishi), an entrance gate, cottages, parking facilities, approach roads, a tourist information centre, development of pathways, lawn development, CCTV installation, Yajnashala, Jan Suvidha Kendra, drainage system, electrification, an overhead water tank, staircase construction, modular shops, development of the places associated with Saptarishi, signage, gazebo, boundary wall, site development, and a guard room. Similarly, the Chief Minister inaugurated the development work in Shringi Rishi Ashram of Sihawa, worth Rs. 1.32 crore, which includes the construction of a curtain wall (with a mural), an entrance gate, railings, sheds, gazebos, beautification and electrification work in various places, Yajnashala (on the hill), internal plumbing, and beautification of the Hanuman temple located in Shringi Rishi Ashram, pathway development, and the establishment of a Jan Suvidha Kendra, etc.
