Strict implementation of laws is being ensured for protection of women and their interest

Raipur, 04 September 2023/ Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, state government is taking every possible step to ensure women’s safety. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, the law for the protection of women is being strictly followed. Cases of crime against women are being taken into serious consideration and strict action is being taken against the culprits. In the same sequence, a women’s cell has been formed in every police station of the state and independent investigation of crimes related to women is also being done.

People found involved in crime against women will not get government jobs
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has also announced that any person found involved in crime against women will not be given any government job.

Measures are being taken to ensure the safety of women
Home (Police) Department is taking significant measures to ensure safety of women in Chhattisgarh. The department is implementing several schemes and is also conducting public awareness campaign.

Abhivyakti app
Keeping in view the safety of women, Chhattisgarh government has developed “Abhivyakti” women safety app. This mobile app has been launched on 01 January 2022.

‘Abhyakti’ public awareness campaign
Abhivyakti public awareness campaign is also being conducted to make women of Chhattisgarh aware about their legal and constitutional rights.

Research Unit on Crime Against Women (IUCAW)
IUCAW has been constituted in 06 districts of the state.

Police Station for Women
Separate police stations are being operated for women in 04 districts of the state.

Women Cell in Police Station
Women cells have been formed in all 455 police stations/posts of the state.

Women cell at district-level
Women cells have been formed at the district-level as well to ensure quick redressal of women related issues and complaints.

CCTV camera
As many as 50,000 CCTV cameras have been installed in public places.

Victim Compensation Scheme
Compensation Scheme for Women/Survivors of Sexual Harassment/Other Crimes – 2018 is being implemented in the state. This scheme has the provision of relief amount up to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh for the victim.
