Coal Company SECL pays nearly 1000 Crores to its Wage Board Employees as Arrears of National Coal Agreement(NCWA) -XI

Chhattisgarh based Coal India Subsidiary SECL has paid a total of around 952 crores, Net after tax deductions, to its wage Board Employees, as Arrears of National Coal Agreement(NCWA) -XI . NCWA-XI has been implemented with effect from 1st July 2021 while arrears have been paid for the previous 23 months. The employees are already getting salary at revised pay scale. The NCWA is done for a period of five years and the current agreement will be effective till June 2026.
“The total number of eligible employees were 37,417, in which there are about 28,000 Daily Rated(DR) and Piece Rated(PR) employees, while remaining about 9,000 are Monthly Rated(MR) employees. Overall, financial implication for SECL has been of around 1600 Crores rupees, in Gross, which includes about Rs.450 Crores as tax payment to the exchequer”- Company Spokesperson said in a statement.

In Korba district of Chhattisgarh were Mega Projects of the Company are located, the amount paid to the employees stood at Rs.101.50 crores in Gevra, the largest Mine in India, 66 Crores in Dipka and around 66 Crores (all in Gross) in Kusmunda Mega Project .

CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra and Functional Directors congratulated all the employees on the occasion.
