Colorful rakhis will adorn brothers’ wrists in the upcoming Rakhi festival

RIPA facilitate the women’s SHGs to craft attractive rakhis for festive occasion

Raipur, 28 August 2023/ For the upcoming Rakshabandhan, sisters from self-help groups (SHGs) are crafting rakhis using molly thread and pearls. These tokens of affection will grace the wrists of their brothers in a tradition cherished across the state. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these rakhis symbolise the deep bond of love between brothers and sisters.

In the Kabirdham district, women’s SHGs are creating vibrant rakhis, which are in high demand in the local markets. SHGs like Mahalakshmi and Kusum Mahila Gram Sangathan are generating substantial income through these intricately crafted rakhis.
