Raipur, 03 August 2023 . Ishwari Nishad, a visually impaired athlete from Mahasamund district in Chhattisgarh, qualified for the Asian Para Athletics Games. The games will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23. Ms. Ishwari Nishad has won gold medals in consecutive National and International Para Athletics Championships. She has been honoured at the state level for her sports excellence. Minister for Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, Smt. Anila Bhediya extended her best wishes for Ishwari’s future. Ishwari participated in the Final Selection for Para Athletics Asian Games Trial held on July 25 and 26, 2023, at Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. In the 200m race, she stood 1st in India and 5th in the Asian rankings. In the 400m race, she came in second and secured seventh rank in the Asian rankings. Ishwari attended Fortune Foundation Blind Special School in Karmapatpar (Baghbahra), where she began participating in Para athletics games.
