Educational incentive cheques and bicycles distributed to the children of labourers

Raipur, 26 July 2023/ MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma attended the Chhattisgarh State Labour Welfare Board’s conference held at Patidar Bhawan in Khamtarai on July 26. In his address, he emphasized the state government’s commitment to the welfare and prosperity of labourers. Mr. Sharma urged collective efforts to ensure labourers benefit from the state government’s initiatives. He highlighted the importance of coordination between labourers and employers in resolving major issues. Additionally, he empathized with the plight of the poor and labourers, calling upon public representatives, officers, and employees to actively contribute to their development. The conference served as a platform to reaffirm the state’s dedication to supporting and protecting its workforce.

During the conference, Mr. Shafi Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Labour Welfare Board, expressed his commitment to the upliftment of labourers. He shared that the Board’s educational initiatives aim to empower the children of labourers, enabling them to achieve posts like Collector or SP. Mr. Khan elaborated on the state government’s efforts to improve labour conditions and highlighted various ongoing schemes run by the Labour Department. The current government has seen significant progress with over 9,065 registered organizations and more than 4.5 lakh workers, compared to 3355 institutions and two lakh workers during the previous government. He encouraged more labourers to register and take advantage of the Board’s schemes. Responding to MLA Mr. Satyanarayan’s suggestion, Mr. Khan announced the establishment of a ‘Shramik Anna Kendra’ and ‘Sewing Training Centre’ in Birgaon. Other members also addressed the conference, further reinforcing their commitment to labour welfare. As part of the event, educational incentive cheques and bicycles were distributed to the children of labourers to support their education.

The Mayor of Birgaon Municipal Corporation, Mr. Nandlal Dewangan, Board members Mr. Manoj Singh Thakur, Mr. Madan Taleda, Mr. Shariq Khan, Mr. Naresh Garhwal, Mr. Suresh Masih, President of INTUC Raipur Mr. Ashish Dubey, Commissioner Mr. S.L. Jangde, senior social workers Mr. K.K. Sharma, Mr. Udholal Verma, Mr. Yogesh Solanki, Mr. Girish Dubey, and a large number of employers and workers were present.
