Coordination Meeting of the Police Officers from the states bordering Chhattisgarh held in Hyderabad

Raipur, 26 July 2023/ An inter-state coordination meeting of the police officers from the states bordering Chhattisgarh was organized in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Mr. Ashok Juneja (HP), Director General of Police, Chhattisgarh and DGPs of Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states were present in this meeting.

In view of the upcoming assembly elections to be held in October-November 2023, police officers discussed the measures required to maintain law and order, to control criminal activities in Naxal-affected areas and to ensure peaceful and fair elections. Senior police officers of the four states gave presentations on topics related to expected police arrangements, law and order and Naxal activities in the border areas of the states.

It is noteworthy that during the anti-Naxal campaign, continuous meetings are being organized at police station level, district level, range level and inter-state level to ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted in a systematic manner in the border areas.

The joint operation against Naxalites by the Central Security Forces and Chhattisgarh Police has significantly reduced the naxal activities in the state. Besides conducting the intensive campaign against Naxalites in the sensitive areas, development works are being done in an expedited manner. This is the reason why people’s faith in the governance and administration has been restored.

In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on strengthening the information system of the police in the border Naxal-affected areas and campaigning against Naxalism by taking the local villagers into confidence.
