Food Lab facility available for packaging of the products

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, State Government is implementing Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park (RIPA) Scheme with the objective of making our villages economically viable. Today, women self-help groups are reaching the heights of success by engaging in various livelihood-oriented activities. Supporting their endeavour, Chhattisgarh Government has established C-Mart facility to sell the goods produced by the women self-help groups. Members of women self-help group in Jashpur have so far sold goods worth more than Rs 2 crore 40 lakh at C-Mart. The administration has provided food lab facility in Gauthan for packaging of the manufactured products.

In Bahnatangar Gauthan in Pathalgaon development block, various livelihood activities including pole construction, mustard oil production, community farm, chicken hatchery, murra (puffed rice) production, tomato ketchup production work is being conducted in a systematic manner. With the construction of 6 thousand poles, the members of the women self-help group have earned a net income of Rs 4 lakh 20 thousand. Women are earning additional income from community farm and goat rearing.

Women of Pooja self-help group are engaged in mustard oil crushing work in RIPA. They do the mustard crushing work with the help of the machine provided by the administration. The oil so produced by this group is high on demand, because of its quality and purity. Shakti women self-help group cultivates tomato, okra, barbatti, gourd, green chilies and other green vegetables in the community garden and sell it in the local Haat-Bazaar. Jai Mata self-help group is engaged in Chicken hatchery work. They even supply chicks and eggs to the other gauthans as per the demand.

Women of Sanskar self-help group make tomato ketchup and Rani women self-help group of village Rajouti (Bagiya) Gauthan of Kasabel development block is cultivating turmeric and spices, and earning good profit from the same. The products made by women self-help groups are being sold in C-mart as well as in local schools, ashrams, hostels, local haat bazaars, district level and state level exhibitions.
