‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana’: Resolving concerns for daughters’ marriages

43 couples tied the knot in a mass marriage program held in Gariaband

Culture Minister and Minister-in-Charge of Gariaband district, Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, actively participated in a mass marriage program for girls organised as part of the ‘Mukhyamantari Kanya Vivah Yojana’ in Gariaband. He stated that the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana’ has resolved the concerns related to daughters’ marriages. Congratulating the newly married couples, Mr. Bhagat emphasised that the state government, led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, is dedicated to implementing public welfare schemes that benefit all sections of society, including farmers, labourers, youth, and senior citizens.

Mr. Bhagat highlighted the state government’s decision to increase the financial assistance from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000, effectively relieving families of the financial burden associated with marriage expenses and necessary preparations. This decision has particularly helped poor families save considerable resources. There were 43 couples that took part in the mass marriage program at the district headquarters’ indoor stadium. Mr.Bhagat, along with Rajim MLA Mr.Amitesh Shukla and other public representatives, blessed the newlyweds for a prosperous life ahead. Mr. Bhagat also made an additional announcement to enhance healthcare facilities in the district by providing three ambulances.
