Bringing Medical Care to Remote Regions: ‘Mukhyamantri Haat Bazaar Clinic Yojana’ reaches needy individuals

Scheme benefits over 3.31 lakh individuals in Mahasamund in the last financial year

Mahasamund 17 June 2023// Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel’s innovative initiative, ‘Mukhyamantri Haat Bazaar Clinic Yojana’, aims to provide healthcare facilities to people in remote areas of the state, ensuring timely access to medicines and treatment.

Chief Medical and Health Officer informed that between April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023, a total of 4,001 health camps were organized by the Health Department in 84 weekly haat bazaars located in rural areas of the district. These camps conducted medical examinations and tests for various ailments, benefiting 3,31,800 needy individuals. Additionally, medication was provided to 2,71,247 patients, including essential medicines for 1,19,420 patients with hypertension and 1,15,586 patients with diabetes.

Earlier, due to a lack of information and education, people from remote rural areas relied on traditional remedies and quacks, resulting in fatalities due to the absence of proper treatment. The scheme is now proving highly beneficial to make quality and affordable healthcare accessible in far-flung areas.
