World Environment Day 2023 celebrated at NTPC Lara with mass plantation drive and environment awareness walkathon under the guidance of Shri Diwakar Kaushik, ED (Lara) on 5th June 2023. With active participation of employees, housewives, associates, and participants of Girl Empowerment Mission took part in the walkathon followed by plantation drive inside Maitree Nagar township, showcasing their commitment towards environment protection for a sustainable future. On this occasion Shri Diwakar Kaushik, ED-Lara administered environment protection pledge on “Mission Life” committing to safeguard our precious environment to all participants. Employees and associates holding placards and banner visited the township to make employees aware on Mission Life for an environment conscious lifestyle. Taking a step ahead to #BeatPlasticPollution, environment friendly cloth bags were distributed among the contractual workers working under various contracts in NTPC.
To sensitize our future generation about environment protection participants of Girl Empowerment Mission were included in this environment day celebration so that they could realise the need of the hour for protection of our environment and encourage others to do so and make this a mass movement.
Shri Rajeev Ranjan, GM (Fuel Management), Shri Samarendra Kumar Roy, GM (Operation), Shri Ravi Shankar, GM (Project Construction), Shri Kanhaiya Das, AGM (HR), Head of Departments, members of Prerita Mahila Samiti, employees, CISF personnel, and contract labourers were present on this occasion.
